Technology Licensing Brings Mutual Success

CAPTISOL is a well-profiled drug formulation technology available to research and drug development professionals through flexible licensing arrangements with CyDex. We work worldwide with companies interested in licensing Captisol and other SBE-CD technologies. A sample of CAPTISOL is available upon execution of a confidentiality agreement. Additional supplies can be purchased directly from CyDex.

New products enable CyDex partners to commercialize products that otherwise would not be feasible and to manage product life cycles. Two Captisol-Enabled® drugs have been brought to market by Pfizer, a CyDex partner. Vfend® I.V. (voriconazole)has been approved by regulatory authorities in North America, Europe and Japan. Zeldox®/Geodon® (ziprasidone mesylate)for Injection, has been approved by regulatory authorities in North America and Europe. A number of formulations using CAPTISOL technology in various therapeutic areas and dosage forms are currently advancing in the pipelines of CyDex partners.

Captisol Outlicensing Pipeline

We have outlicensed our Captisol technology to a number of organizations and we have over 30 agreements currently in place. We currently receive royalties from Pfizer and BMS on sales of Captisol-Enabled Geodon IM, Vfend IV, Abilify Injection IM (launched December 2006) and Cerenia (launched in 2007).
