Advasep® is a Anionic Cyclodextrin Complexing Agent: pK
a<1
Advasep is a Mixture of the Sodium Salts of Sulfobutyl ether ß-cyclodextrins (SBE-CDs)
Advasep is Mixture of SBE
1-9 that Functions as a Tetra Anion: SBE4-ß-CD

In capillary electrophoresis, a drug complexed with Advasep migrates against the electroosmotic flow (EOF). This counter current electrophoretic mobility broadens the CE separation window and more effectively distinguishes closely related analytes. The migration time of the analyte depends on the degree of its association with the CD and the net charge of the complex.

Advasep ß-CD-(O-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-SO3)4-4
Advasep
  • Has an electrophoretic mobility opposite of EOF
  • Generates drug complexes that have anionic character
  • Is effectively a tetra anion with low charge to mass ratio
    Minimal contribution to current
  • Is anionically charged over full pH range
pH does not affect charge of resolving agent

Advasep is a Chiral Resolving Agent
  • Chiral resolution is possible when the apparent mobility of the complexed enantiomers are different
  • Apparent mobility of the enantiomers is different when the ratio of time spent in the free and in the complexed forms is different and if the exchange between free and bound forms is very rapid
  • Advasep´s SBE structure and spatial orientation provide selective complexation of each enantiomer resulting in exceptional chiral recognition in CE separations

Advasep is a Resolving Agent for Chiral and Achiral CE Separations
Use in relatively low concentation 1-30 mM
Use over entire pH Range
Fine tune separation
with addition of netural cyclodextrins, a-, b-. and g-CD
